The Royal Chola Heritage Collection of incense sticks arranged on an altar with brass lamps and incense smoke

Six fragrances, hand-rolled in the spirit of South India’s temples and carried on a thread of smoke.

Since 1949

A legacy of fragrance

Royal Chola takes its name from one of South India’s greatest dynasties, a civilisation remembered for towering temples, fine artistry and a deep devotion to ritual.

For seventy-five years our incense has been made in that same spirit: natural aromatics rolled onto slender bamboo and blended into fragrances meant to mark a moment: a prayer, a celebration, a quiet evening at home.

How to light it

i.

Light the tip

Hold a flame to the coated end until it catches, then gently blow it out so it glows.

ii.

Set it to rest

Place the stick in a holder on a heat-safe surface, away from anything that can catch.

iii.

Let it unfold

A slow ribbon of scented smoke fills the room. Enjoy in good ventilation.
